False alarm immunity is one of the most important topics for the motion detector designer. A good PIR motion detector must work stably and reliably even in the harshest environments, but this can not be accomplished by using the conventional device and design approach.

The PIR-9822 employs the Double-Twin-Optics detection technology in signal processing and the AEI’s proprietary ASIC device in security logic and environment controls.

The Double-Twin-Optics system consists two optical structures and two low noise dual element pyro sensors in one enclosure, which provides a detection pattern that responses only to the intruder, not the pets or rodents.

The Double-Twin-Optics system is controlled by the ASIC device. The alternate polarity signal processor inside the ASIC has very high rejection to the common mode noise due to radio interference or power surges on both channels. The ASIC device also provides the function of digital pulse counting, temperature compensation, power-up delay and alarm output timing and controls. All of which maximizes security and delivers unrivalled false alarm immunity.
